Product Description
Life happens in busy homes, and keeping up with accumulating dirt, dust, pet hair, crumbs, and debris can be a daily challenge. Introducing the iRobot Roomba 560- a member of iRobot’s newest generation of Roomba Vacuuming Robots.

Now there’s a better way to maintain cleaner floors every day. With dramatically improved navigation, cleaning coverage, vacuum pickup, particle filtration, and scheduling capabilities, the Roomba 560 picks up amazing amounts of dirt and debris from your floors with the touch of a button--so you don’t have to.

The Roomba 560 even cleans on schedule when it’s most convenient for you. Use the on-board scheduling system to easily program up to seven days and times per week for Roomba to vacuum--whether you’re at home or on the go. The Roomba 560 also offers the most efficient room-to-room cleaning available using two innovative, new Virtual Wall Lighthouses.

With dramatically improved navigation, cleaning coverage, vacuum pickup, and particle filtration, the Roomba 560 vacuuming robot picks up amazing amounts of dirt and debris with the simple touch of a button. The powerful unit features innovative spinning side brushes that grab dirt and dust from corners and along wall edges, as well as two high-speed, counter-rotating brushes that pick up pet hair, cat litter, food crumbs, and other debris from floors. The vacuum sucks up the debris and deposits it into a large, easy-to-empty bagless dustbin, and its improved fine-filtration system traps dust, pollen, and other allergens inside the unit, reducing infiltration into the living environment.

5 out of 5 stars This is the best Roomba so far   July 4, 2009

Wow - this is evidence that iRobot does its homework. Easier to clean than the old slide-out filter we had. Seems the cleaning is more thorough, and it appears to be 'smarter.'
We use ours during our RV trips as well as at home.
Even though this isn't the pet vac, it picks up the dachshund hair.

5 out of 5 stars Loved my Roomba Discovery but love this one more!   June 25, 2009

My Roomba Discovery has been acting up lately (after vacuuming my condo 3x per week for 3 years) and I reluctantly put down the cash for this new model. Wow, am I pleased!! First, and most important, this model is about 1/2 as loud as the Discovery, I was watching a movie yesterday while the Roomba was doing its job in the same room, could never have done that with the Discovery. Second, programming it is intuitive and a cinch. Third, the docking station works much better with a easier dock and more solid electrical connection (though you need to anchor the docking station down, I used two small pieces of 3M double sided tape on my hardwood floor). Fourth, the vacuum pattern seems to be smarter. Fifth the unit is easier on my furniture.

Couldn't be more pleased!!!

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased with my Roomba   June 22, 2009

I received my Roomba as a gift from my husband 6 months ago and have been waiting to write my review. I read so many reviews before purchasing that complained about parts breaking and the machine not working after a few uses. So I wanted to make sure that my Roomba was going to live up to all of my expectations before finally submitting my review.

I have never had any problems at all with my Roomba. I think some of the problems I've read on here can be eliminated with these tips:

1) Roomba is not meant to replace regular vacuuming and I don't think they are built to be used every day. I use mine in between regular vacuuming, about 4 times a month in our 2 heavy-traffic rooms only.
2) Removing small objects and clutter from the floor before using Roomba will eliminate problems such as getting tangled and crashing into things. To me, picking up these items is part of cleaning anyway. If the Roomba is constantly running over things, that is bound to wear down its parts more quickly.
3) The lighthouses, virtual walls, and docking all work with no problems if you block Roomba off to do one room at a time. Letting it wander freely around multiple rooms will cause the battery to go down before it finishes and will cause it to wander forever before finding the docking station. I've never had a problem getting the Roomba to dock itself when in the same room with the docking station. And the battery always lasts long enough to do 2 rooms.
4) Clean the Roomba after each use. It only takes a couple of minutes, much less time than it would take to run a regular vacuum. This helps the Roomba and its parts run smoothly.

My favorite things about my Roomba:

1) I have back problems, so it cuts down on having to push and pull a big vacuum around (and the Roomba only weighs about 5 pounds)
2) It vacuums under the bed, end tables, etc, so no more moving furniture to clean.
3) I was very surprised and pleased with the amount of dust and particles it picks up. It has as much sucking power as my regular vacuum.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the performance of my Roomba and think it is worth the money. One more tip: the replacement filters are very expensive if purchased directly from iRobot. I was concerned about this since those have to be replaced every few months. But I found them on eBay at prices half of what iRobot was asking.

5 out of 5 stars Love my Roomba!   June 16, 2009

Ok, I've given it a few months, I've read many of the other reviews and I'm ready to give mine. I've been looking a Roombas for a while and I'm one of those people who research everything to death. My husband got tired of it and just broke down and bought me "Roomie" (yes, I've named my Roomba) for Valentines Day gift. I know what many of you ladies are thingking...I'd kill my husband if he bought me that for Valentines Day. But I think it was the best gift I could have possibly received. I'm not a cany and perfume kinds gal and at the time my husband was working out of the country for three months so he couldn't very well take me out to dinner, but her could order me something he knew I've been wanting from Amazon. Now to the point. We have three cats, two of them very long-haired with underfur coats (one is a Maincoon-mix). If you expect to buy a Roomba and never have to vacuume again you are kidding yourself, but if you haev a situation like mine where you are very busy and don't want to vacuume cat fur every day and just worry about a normal vacuuming once a week or less this is the product for you. It cuts down on dust, dirt, and pet fur wonderfuly. Other reviews I've

This is the first time I've ever left a review but I feel so inspired to by this product. Lets begin by the fact that I live in a house with 3 boys, a dog, and a cat. I have hard wood floors on the main floor and I was constantly walking on grit. I was swiffering daily and not keeping it all up and probably not getting everywhere I should because I was sick to death of doing it. Despite my husbands discouragement, I bought this product over 3 weeks ago and I have not been disappointed in the least, and even converted my husband!!!! Now, it does take some maintenance but 5 min a day is still less than what I spent vacuuming before. I run this thing daily on my main floor and am astonished by the dust it still gathers. Yay for allergies, right? I never see pet hair or bunnies along the hallways anymore either (huge pet peeve, literally.)

If you are considering this product be aware of these things:
1. I have a fairly simple straightforward floorplan of 1200 sq ft on the main floor. With 2 lighthouses, Roomba cleans very well all rooms and docks back when he's tired. My mom bought one and returned it because her's "went all over willy nilly." I told her she probably just needed a couple more lighthouses to keep it working in the right rooms longer because she's got more sq footage and open concept rooms. So basically, it will work better if you have a complex floor plan w more lighthouses, don't give up on him so soon!
2. Clean him after every time he cleans. It doesn't take long at all and it keeps him happy.
3. If you have doors that shut easily, you may have to prop them open. I've come upstairs to find that he has shut himself in a room on accident. Poor guy.

That's really all I can think of right now. I have been so pleasantly surprised with this device and even my husband likes to brag about how it cleans better than I do. (Like he ever picked up a vacuum or mop before!!!!)
