Hoover U6485900 Windtunnel Anniversary Vacuum March 4, 2010 Arlene Berry (Los Angeles, CA) I purchased this vacuum at the insistance of the salesman at Best Buy.
As I was speaking to the salesman, another customer had already picked up the vacuum box, raving about the reviews he just read on this vacuum.
Please do yourself a favor and don't buy this vacuum, unless you like aerobic exercise. Although it has incredible suction, the attachments fly off and I am constantly having to bend down and pick them up. Many times they flew under the bed and tables, which is very, very annoying.
I have had flea problems and have to vacuum daily so I know how expensive the bags are (have to use one every day and then trash it immediately), and how inconvenient it is to have attachments that fly off the vacuum.
If I could, I would get rid of this crappy vacuum today in favor of a Dyson, which has a 5 year warranty.
I had a Hoover for 26 years and it was great, but this Wind Tunnel is a nightmare...pass it up or get a lot of exercise
I Do Not Recommend This Vacuum February 26, 2010 Just my opinion (Wonderland) I have used this vacuum approximately forty times and I can't stand it at all. Amazon is usually an excellent resource for purchasing, however, they got it wrong this time. Spare yourself the aggravation and move on to another vacuum. The suction is okay, but the vacuum is heavy and the attachments are both cheap and useless. They are constructed of a toy grade plastic which will undoubtedly break causing you to have to purchase a replacement. They are also NOT riveted, so they fall apart constantly as you are in the throws of your joyous cleaning adventure. The other reviewers must work for Hoover, because I fail to see the genius here. It's going back!
another product from China February 21, 2010 Christina Harris (Davie, Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It looks like my old Hoover, but as soon as my husband touched it to assemble it, he was cut on his hand. The handle has very sharp edges, and so do the holders for the wand.
I also found that Hoover no longer has authorized service stores. They have been closed, and when you go to Hoover's website they give you repair shops for all vacuums. I am so disappointed that another manufacturer has sold to the Chinese.
I gave the new "Hoover" away and bought a vacuum made in the USA.
Good Vacuum Cleaner, A Little Hard to Control February 21, 2010 Jaclynn Bull (Orange, Texas) This is a good vacuum cleaner, I purchased it for $149 which seems to have been a great deal. It works great, great suction, the only thing I'm not crazy about is the self-propelled part. It is definitley self propelled, after the first time I used it my leg was bruised up and I lost 1/2 of my toenail. It's very jerky and unpredictable due to the self propel. Overall I would buy this again, just be careful when using.
#1 rated vacuum cleaner February 16, 2010 J. Gresham (Texas) There is a reason that this vacuum was rated a "CR Choice" best buy by Consumer Reports. Its a great vacuum cleaner regardless of the floor type. It is awesome on carpet and great on hard floors. It is a breeze to use and the self propelled feature makes it so that our six year old can use it with ease. If you use the attachments a lot go ahead and get the extended hose.
